Ohhh My Aching Back!

Oh Shoveling, Oh Shoveling, oh how I hate to do this. Oh shoveling, Oh Shoveling how will my back get through this? Every week the snow falls down, then comes the rain, and packs it down. Oh Shoveling, Oh Shoveling, where is global warming?

Okay, I borrowed the melody from O’ Tannenbaum, but my sentiments speak for all my fellow shovelers in New Jersey as we plow through the weekly snow blankets.

However, we don’t need snow to break our backs or over work our muscles; we’ve all done that at sometime in our lives, usually resulting in long hours of bed rest or tri-weekly visits to the Chiropractor or mega doses of Tylenol and Aleve. Even the likes of Tiger Balm or more recently, pain/heat patches render short term or disappointing results, not to mention the costly expense of the latter.

As a Massage Therapist, I am constantly searching for pain relieving balms, creams, or salves whose ingredients can safely be absorbed into the body over a prolonged period of time, that do not leave a greasy residue, are affordable, but most of all, something that actually works! I am happy to introduce, BIGELOIL, a liniment gel whose healing properties relieve sore muscles, strains, sprains, and even pain caused by arthritis.

If you don’t have a store near you that carries BigelOil, you can Google it and find many suppliers. I’m lucky that I can purchase it at a local feed store…so don’t be surprised if BigelOil is marketed as a horse liniment online, it works on animals too! : )

Happy Shopping!

OH OH OH Oil of Oregano...a natural healer

Hello Friends,
Seems like everyone is getting sick this season, either with the killer stomach virus (which I had a couple of weeks ago!) or a bad cold with upper respiratory issues.

Many do NOT like to take antibiotics on a regular basis, and in some cases, antibiotics will not help you recover from certain illnesses.
Oil of Oregano to the rescue!! In particular OREGANOL P 73 - you are going to pay about the same ($25 for a 1/2 ounce) for knock offs, so you might as well get the best stuff on the market. I know, it sounds like a lot of money, but it will last a loooong time, you are only taking a few drops each dose!!

This little bottle has become my family's favorite natural remedy when fighting off a cold, flu, cold sore (yes, it can even be used topically!), or just about any sickness as Oreganol has anti-viral, as well as anti-bacterial, properties.
In addition, it is easy to take; unlike many natural products and homeopathic remedies that have to be ingested 30 minutes before or after food, or taken religiously every few hours to garner any effects, you only have to take Oreganol once a day.

There are two very important things you need to know about Oil of Oregano:

1. Take it the moment you feel that "tingle" in your nose, the minute you feel your throat getting scratchy, in other words, at the first sign of sickness.
2. DO NOT follow the dosage directions listed on the bottle. The directions tell you to take two drops under your tongue - you don't want to do this. Oil of Oregano is bitter and taken straight, has a burning effect in your mouth. The best way my family likes to ingest O.o.O is:

*5 drops of Oreganol in a tablespoon of Olive Oil - down the hatch like cough medicine OR
*The same recipe as above but used as a dipping oil for Italian bread!!- This method may be more appealing to the kids in your household.

Here's the bonus, Oreganol doesn't just help you feel better, it actually helps strengthen your immune system. For me, it's the best bang for my buck when it comes to fighting off and stopping a cold/flu in it's tracks.

Oh, remember that stomach virus I mentioned earlier - here's an old school remedy to settle your stomach - Bitters! Yep, old fashioned, bar stool drinking, bitters. A few drops in ginger ale worked better than flat coke, coke syrup, or plain ginger ale to quell my upset stomach!

Happy Snow days!
